PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a viewer from getting a motion picture sickness and eyestrain by reducing a change of focus or brightness. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has: an imaging optical system provided with a lens for focus adjustment and a diaphragm for brightness adjustment; a signal processing means for outputting a video signal by performing photoelectric conversion of an optical image formed via the imaging optical system; a drive means for driving the imaging optical system; an image coding means for coding the video signal output by the signal processing means; and a control means for performing control (#504→#505→#507→#508) so that the coding processing is synchronized with drive of the imaging optical system.
