<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium that is irradiated with high-precision signal light and reference light when performing recording or reproduction in a radial direction of a disk, and to provide an information recording and reproducing apparatus which records and reproduces information using the information recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: To solve the problem, the information recording medium and the information recording and reproducing apparatus employ the following technical means. Pits for detecting recording and reproduction positions are provided in the radial direction of the disk. A synchronization signal or an address is embedded in the pits. When recording or reproduction is performed, the disk is irradiated with the high-precision signal light and reference light using the pits as a guide, thereby recording and reproduction can be performed without rotating the disk at high speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
