<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily secure visibility regardless of the difference of chromaticity of circumferential light (environmental light) in reproducing and displaying an image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An environmental light/luminance/chromaticity detection sensor 7 for detecting luminance and chromaticity around an image display part 6 is arranged, and a chromaticity compensation amount is obtained based on the luminance and chromaticity detected by the environmental light/luminance/chromaticity detection sensor 7. White balance is corrected by the obtained chromaticity correction amount, whereby visibility can be easily secured regardless of the difference of chromaticity of circumferential light (environmental light) in reproducing and displaying an image.
