PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery in which a burst valve bursts excellently by a low pressure when the internal pressure of a battery rises abnormally, and the valve is suppressed from bursting when a shock is applied to the battery. SOLUTION: A negative electrode terminal 4 with a cross-section view of T-shape is provided surrounded by a gasket 5 in the central part of a lid 3 of a battery. A burst valve 31 with a plan-view of long circle shape is provided by a stamping process at one end of a lid 3, and a recess 32 with a plan-view of rectangular shape is provided by a stamping process at the other end of the lid 3. A groove 312 having a prescribed width is provided along the inner periphery edge of the burst valve 31. The thickness of a valve body 311 on the inner periphery side of the groove 312 is uniform in the burst valve 31, but the thickness of the groove 312 is constructed to be reduced as it goes from the end in the longitudinal direction to the central part of the lid 3.
