PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a method for reproducing contents using the same are provided to display reproduction time corresponding to a cursor location of a progressive bar displayed on a screen during content reproduction, thereby easily finding a desired reproduction time point. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(20) outputs a progressive bar(20a) by an image. An input unit(30) inputs a moving command and an executing command. The moving command transfers a location of a cursor(20b) of the progressive bar. A controller keeps a content reproduction state before the moving command is inputted according to the moving command and the executing command.
