PURPOSE: An optical pick-up, and a record/playback apparatus and method are provided to efficiently access to a storage medium including multiple record layers. CONSTITUTION: A light source(110) generates a plurality of beams having different wavelengths. An optical path adjusting part has a wavelength separation part(125) and a diffraction part(158). The wavelength separation part divides the beams emitted from the light source according to wavelength. The diffraction part diffracts the beam reflected from a recording medium at different angles according to wavelength. Light receiving parts(160,161) receive the beam reflected from the recording medium.
