Intended is to provide a method for obtaining the material information on an outgoing steel plate over the entire length without long time and much effort and for providing a user with the detailed massive material information through a computer and a network, so that the user may use that information. On the basis of the rolling actual data in a refining rolling machine arranged on the exit side of a continuous annealing line or galvanizing facilities, the material prediction of a refined rolled steel plate is made to provide the user of the steel plate with the predicted material data obtained, through the host computer and the network. According to the material information obtained, the user can eliminate the unnecessary material portion or can change the press-working conditions of the steel plate. The user can also feed back the information to the steel plate manufacturer.
