<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record content suitable for the preference of a user appropriately. <P>SOLUTION: An information processor evaluates programs based on program abstract information and user preference information, determines programs whose evaluation is higher than a predetermined value as recommended programs, and registers the programs in a recommended program list (SA11 to SA13). A program (SA27Y) designated by a user (SA22) who has browsed the recommended program list is automatically recorded (SA18). An automatically recorded program list including the program to be recorded is also browsed by the user (SA24). The preference information is newly created or its contents are updated, according to the past operations made for the information processor by the user.
