<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical filter for a display, having an easy-to-ground ground electrode portion, which is easily mounted on the display and can have the ground electrode portion precisely and easily exposed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the optical filter for the display having the ground electrode portion is characterized in that the ground electrode portion 120' is formed by exposing a part of an electromagnetic shield layer 120 by cutting at least part of a peripheral edge portion of a functional layer 130 of a stack, including a transparent base 110, the patterned electromagnetic shield layer 120 provided over one entire surface of the base, and the functional layer 130 formed over the entire surface of the electromagnetic shield layer 120, with a cutting tool 140 given ultrasonic vibrations.
