<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing histidine amide derivatives such as anserine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: New imidazole derivatives are used as precursor compounds in synthesizing histidine amide derivatives such as anserine. As the imidazole derivative has an enamine structural unit, a desired stereoisomer can be obtained by asymmetrically reducing the double bond of the enamine structural unit in producing the histidine amide derivative such as anserine.
