Process for producing laminated strip

Production of a water vapor permeable laminate strip comprises: a film strip based on a filled thermoplastic plastic is laminated with a non-woven fleece strip based on plastic filaments and/or fibers and stretched in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Initial stretching is effected longitudinally to NOTLESS 200% followed by stretching in the transverse direction to NOTGREATER 50%. An Independent claim is also included for: (a) a first process plant version with longitudinal and transverse stretching mechanisms, the latter comprising a lattice of banana breadth stretching rolls; and (b) a second plant version with longitudinal and transverse stretching mechanisms, the latter comprising an endless circulating elastic belt which passes around the lower rolls of two roll pairs and has higher stiffness than the composite strip and angled secondary roll pairs between the outer roll pairs for exerting outward force on the belt.
