<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high mobility, a large current on/off ratio, and excellent storage stability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic transistor has an organic semiconductor layer. The organic semiconductor layer contains at least one compound expressed by a general formula 1. In the formula, X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>10</SB>independently express a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a straight chain, branched, or annular alkyl group, a straight chain, branched, or annular alkoxy group, a straight chain, branched, or annular alkoxyalkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group. Furthermore, X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>2</SB>may be bonded to one another to form a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted naphthalene ring.
