<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device having a spacer capable of reducing the contact area between a rotary member and the spacer, without losing the effect of separating the rotary member by the spacer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This invention is the transmission device having the spacer including a first member 1, a second member 2, a plurality of rotary members 4 and a plurality of spacers 3. The first member has a first rotary groove 11. The second member has a second rotary groove 21 corresponding to the first rotary groove. The rotary member 4 is arranged between the first rotary groove and the second rotary groove. The spacer 3 uses a hexahedron as a design base. A holding groove 31 is arranged on respective surfaces of the spacer. The holding groove 31 contacts with the rotary member 4 at four points. The outer edge of the spacer presents a circular arc form to a basic circle by externally cutting the outer edge of the spacer 3 by the basic circle having a diameter (d) smaller than or equal to a diameter D of the rotary member 4, and when separating the rotary member 4 from the holding groove 31 of the spacer 3, since its outer edge presents a substantial sphere, the spacer 3 quickly freely rotates to the holding groove 31, and can be combined with the rotary member 4.
