<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processing device for accurately determining the authenticity even if a convey member has a manufacturing error. <P>SOLUTION: The paper sheet processing device includes a convey roller conveying a paper sheet inserted into an insertion port; a paper sheet reading means 8 reading the paper sheet conveyed by the convey roller; a detection means 231 detecting an actual measurement value of a length of a predetermined area in a convey direction of the paper sheet read by the reading means 8; a storage unit 233 storing a reference value of the length of the predetermined area of the paper sheet; and an authenticity determination unit 230 determining the authenticity of the paper sheet on the basis of a comparison result between the actual measurement value and the reference value. The device calculates the length of the predetermined area by reading a genuine paper sheet, and the reference value is determined on the basis of the calculated length, a theoretical value that is the length of the predetermined area of the genuine paper sheet, and an allowance pre-allowed as the genuine paper sheet to the theoretical value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
