PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin processing apparatus which collects coins safely. SOLUTION: The coin processing apparatus 200, which collects coins safely, includes: a storage for storing coins (storage 14 in Fig.1); an dispensed coin conveying means (dispensed coin conveying mechanism 15 in Fig.1) which conveys coins dispensed from the storage; a paying-out port (B) which pays out coins conveyed by the dispensed coin conveying means; a switching means (switching mechanism 16 in Fig.1) which is located on the conveyor between the storage and the paying-out port (B) and switches the conveying direction of the coins when collecting coins stored in the storage; and a coin collecting unit (C) which is located at a destination of the conveyor whose direction has been switched by the switching means and collects the conveyed coins.
