PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for preventing the deterioration of fuel economy when a vehicle is started. SOLUTION: An accelerator pedal depressing force control device mounted to a vehicle with an automatic transmission 3 includes a brake switch 14 (a brake detection means) for detecting whether or not a brake pedal 13 is stepped on, and a depressing force changing means for changing the depressing force of an accelerator pedal 8. When a vehicle is started, the depressing force of the accelerator pedal 8 is increased for a predetermined time after a driver steps off the brake pedal 13. When the vehicle is started, a time delay occurs before the vehicle driving force exceeds a static friction force to start the vehicle, and the driver is liable to excessively depress the accelerator pedal 8. Thus, by increasing the depressing force of the accelerator pedal 8 when the vehicle is started, any excessive depressing on the accelerator pedal 8 is prevented, and the fuel economy can be improved when the vehicle is started.
