<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a radar by achieving the characteristics of a large-aperture antenna by dividing and forming active phase array antennas at an optional installation place. <P>SOLUTION: When an excitation signal is generated from an exciter 22 due to an activation signal generated from a radar control device 21 and is distributed to supply to each of antenna sub-modules L1-Ln, a combination reception signal is transmitted to a receiver 23 from each of antenna sub-modules L1-Ln. The receiver 23 takes in the combination reception signal obtained by each of sub-modules L1-Ln in response to an instruction from the radar control device 21, a frequency converter 231 converts the combination reception signal into a prescribed frequency band, and a distributed aperture combination circuit 232 performs a beam combination in accordance with a distributed aperture combination algorithm. In this way, a radar apparatus, which is equivalent to an active phased array radar of a large aperture and with high performance, is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
