<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable translation device narrowing down translation candidates retrieved according to input to a translation sentence according to a use scene and outputting the candidates. <P>SOLUTION: This portable translation device includes: a parallel translation database wherein an example sentence of a first language and a sentence of a second language are associated; a semantic feature dictionary storing a semantic feature of the example sentence; a variable semantic feature dictionary storing a semantic feature of a variable part wherein different semantics attachment is performed by replacement in combination with replaced terms of the first and second languages; a retrieval processing part searching the parallel translation database, the semantic feature dictionary, and the variable semantic feature dictionary based on the input of the first language, and retrieving the output candidate wherein the variable part of the second language is replaced; and a narrow-down part determining the output candidate to be output by use of a narrow-down condition. The variable semantic feature dictionary stores the semantic feature imparted with priority to the narrow-down condition, and the narrow-down part narrows down the output candidates based on the priority to the narrow-down condition or determines output order. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
