PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of removing an external additive deposited onto an image carrier surface, by bringing the image carrier of elevated rotational speed into contact with a cleaning recording medium, in every fixed printing operation. SOLUTION: The image forming device has the image carrier formed with an electrostatic latent image, a charge part abutting to the image carrier, to charge the image carrier, a developing part for depositing a developer onto the image carrier charged by a charging member, to form a developer image, a transfer part for transferring the developer image formed by the developing part onto a medium, and a printing control part for controlling the image carrier, the charge part, the developing part and the transfer part at fixed conditions, and the printing control part brings the image carrier into contact with the medium, under the condition where a peripheral speed of the image carrier is differed from a conveying speed of the medium, when not executing the printing operation.
