PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling display time of an OSD are provided to prevent a phenomenon to cover a screen for a long time due to the OSD icon. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(306) displays an OSD icon. A control unit(308) deletes the OSD icon according to a screen change of the display unit. A change ratio calculating unit(314) captures a screen after displaying the OSD icon. If a screen capture period passes, the change ratio calculating unit captures the screen again. The change ration calculating unit calculates a change ratio or a similarity ratio between consecutively captured two screens. |
