PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of achieving at least one of increasing the sense of participating in a game, hardly boring a player, and providing changes in expectations to be held by the player for an interesting performance. SOLUTION: Drawing is performed to determine whether or not to develop two or more stages of steps when starting variable display by a main controller for controlling a Pachinko game machine, and when a drawing result for developing the steps is derived, a character symbol C indicating the development of the step is made to appear every time a game ball enters a big port in the middle of the variable display. The drawing to determine whether or not to develop the step is performed using different tables where the number of steps to be developed is determined to be different ratios according to whether or not the drawing result of jackpot drawing is a jackpot.
