<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tempering apparatus and a method using high-frequency induction heating, in which tempering performance can be improved by raising the temperature of an entire thermosetting treatment layer to be formed on a work to a temperature region required for tempering, provided that the work has a cylindrical plane of a different diameter on its outside surface. <P>SOLUTION: The tempering apparatus using high-frequency induction heating carries out high-frequency induction heating of the work. The apparatus includes induction heating coils 50, 54 and 58 of which the lengths in the axial directions are shorter than that of a heat-treated portion of the work, a transfer means for transferring the induction heating coils 50, 54 and 58 along the axis of the work, high-frequency power sources 52, 56 and 60 for applying high-frequency currents to the induction heating coils 50, 54 and 58, respectively, and control means 67, 68 and 69 for controlling the current applied by the high-frequency power sources, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
