Exo- and endo-compounds of the general formula (wherein R 1 is a halogen atom or lower alkyl radical and R 2 and R 3 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen or halogen atoms or lower alkyl radicals) are prepared by reacting adenosine, in the presence of an acidic catalyst, with a compound of the formula or an acetal (which may be formed in situ) thereof. The lower alkyl radicals contain up to 3 carbon atoms. The compounds of the invention are characterized by good cardiac and circulatory effectiveness. |
