The system (1) has two data processing units (2, 3), where a data transmission unit (21, 31) is provided in each data processing unit. A continuous and automatically operable data exchange connection (4) is provided between the data processing units by the data transmission units. Data exchange has driving mode parameters detected by a vehicle computer (22) in the unit (2) and estimation provided by a driving mode computer (32) in the unit (3) for outputting and displaying driving mode reference of a driving assistance system (23). An independent claim is also included for a method for producing an evaluated driving mode reference in a vehicle steering wheel of a motor vehicle.
