The telephone has a CPU and a memory i.e. non-volatile memory, for storing profiles of different users. A receiver (2) is wirelessly connected with a firmly connectable telephone part (9) or with a cable cord with the telephone part. A numerical keypad (3) is provided for dialing phone numbers. Buttons (4, 5) are changed with multiple telephone settings. A keypad (6) includes three buttons to retrieve the user profiles. The CPU is connected with a connection cable (8) to process incoming or outgoing telephone signals, and with a loudspeaker to output acoustic telephone signals. A visual signal is output by an illuminant e.g. LED, and/or on a display. An independent claim is also included for a method for receiving an incoming call or performing an outgoing call using a telephone i.e. landline telephone.
