ELECTRICAL POWER PROVISION TO A ROTATABLE ASSEMBLY

Apparatus is provided comprising a support and a rotatable assembly rotatably mounted to the support. One or more electricity generators are connected to an electrical device associated with the rotatable assembly, each generator having a first part and a second part relatively rotatable to generate electricity. The first part is fixed to the rotatable assembly and the second part is engaged with the support. The arrangement is such that, upon rotation of the rotatable assembly relative to the support, the second part of each generator is forced to rotate relative to the first part, generating electricity for the electrical device. The apparatus may be used in a wind or tidal turbine, where the rotatable assembly is a rotor blade hub, the support is a nacelle, and the electrical device is a pitch mechanism for adjusting the pitch of the rotor blades.
