PURPOSE: An imaging device, a method for controlling the imaging device, and a medium of for recording the method are provided to differently set a noise filter according to a gain applied by an image pickup device, thereby performing a noise reduction algorithm. CONSTITUTION: An image pickup device(20) photographs a subject to generate an image signal. A gain storage register(32) stores a gain corresponding to the image pickup device. A gain adjuster(31) applies the gain to the image signal. A noise reducing unit(91) reduces the noise of the image signal using a noise filter.
