PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for managing a certificate of a smart card are provided to manage a certificate using efficient code operating capability of a smart card and safety of a storage space, thereby managing a certificate. CONSTITUTION: A key generator(310) generates a key pair including public key and a private key of a smart card. A certificate processor(330) connects to an authentication server through a mobile terminal. The certificate processor performs a certificate issue process. The certificate processor manages an issued certificate. A certificate storage unit(320) stores the issued certificate.
