<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a lubricating oil path extending from the front side to the rear side in an automatic transmission. <P>SOLUTION: This automatic transmission includes a converter case 14 for storing a torque converter and a transmission case 12 to the front side of which the converter case 14 is joined and which has a rear wall 16 for closing the rear end and stores a transmission mechanism. The automatic transmission further includes a lubricating-oil introduction passage 14b formed at the converter case 14 to introduce lubricating oil, a rear-side lubricating-oil supply passage 16d formed at the rear wall 16 to supply the lubricating oil to the transmission mechanism, a lubricating-oil supply pipe 30 communicating with the lubricating-oil introduction passage 14b at the upstream side end, extending toward the rear wall 16 in the transmission case 12, and communicating with the lubricating-oil introduction passage 16d at the downstream side end.
