The device has lateral swing arms (4, 5) for connecting a seat frame part (2) and an upper rail (3). A spindle drive (6) adjusts an adjustment parallelogram (1) such that a distance (h) is changed between the frame part and the upper rail by changing a length of the spindle drive. The spindle drive interconnects two diagonally facing corners (A, D) of the parallelogram as reinforced with each other. A seat belt lock (9) is indirectly or directly connected at the parallelogram. The construction of the device is designed for introduction of force over the belt lock.
