<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently select a plurality of best-shot images of different contents. <P>SOLUTION: A flash memory 506 stores therein a plurality of images time-sequentially captured by an image sensor 501 and image information including a recognition point obtained for each of the images through recognition processing of the image, and an appropriateness point calculation section 507 calculates, for each of the plurality of images, an appropriateness point indicating appropriateness of the image using the recognition point.
