The invention relates to an adaptive assembly line (1) for assembly of a continuous first web (6) to a continuous or discontinuous second web (7). The assembly line (1) comprises a control device (18) comprising a first camera (22) arranged to take a first picture of the first web (6) before assembly of the first web (6) to the second web (7) and that the control device (18) is arranged to use the first picture for determining the position of a first centre line (9) in the first web and that the control device (18) is arranged to use the first picture for controlling the position of the first web (6) and/or the second web (7) so that the first centre line becomes aligned with a second centre line (10) comprised in the second web (7) during assembly of the first web (6) to the second web (7).
