<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector reducing the number of parts. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A slider 70 is assembled in a first housing 10. The slider 70 includes a short terminal region 81 capable of short-circuiting each of terminal metal fittings 50 housed in the first housing 10 and spring regions 82 expandable in the longitudinal direction. To the first housing 10, the slider 70 is allowed to move to a short circuit position keeping a short circuit condition by the short terminal region 81 until both housings 10 and 30 are normally fit, and to a release position releasing the short circuit condition by being biased by the spring regions 82 accompanied with normal fitting of both housings 10 and 30. Each of the spring regions 82 is formed by punching a flat metal plate in a unit body 80 into a wave shape.
