<p>The systems and methods described herein relate to electronic circuits and methods for control of light sources in displays. The circuit includes a plurality of light sources, for instance light emitting diodes, connected to a common power supply. An illumination control system regulates current to the light sources in coordination with a field sequential color imaging algorithm. The light sources can be illuminated either simultaneously or in a timed sequence.</p>
