The implant i.e. artificial vertebral body (1), has external contact areas as end surfaces (2, 3), where the end surfaces are adjusted against each other towards a coaxial longitudinal axis for length variation, and have a set of spikes (4) for crimping with adjacent vertebra. Additional end plates (5, 6) are provided as adjustment elements on the end surfaces. Each end plate has a set of supports (7) for the spikes for connection and/or coupling in different positions. Each side of the end plates attached to the vertebra has another set of spikes (8).
