A conventional perimeter has redundancy. The shapes of a scotoma and a centrocecal scotoma detected by the conventional perimeter are rather different from the actual shapes thereof. Provided is a static visual field scanner characterized by being provided with a means for generating a visual field scanning screen, a means for controlling display of a fixation target, a means for setting scanning lines, a means for setting scanning points, a means for controlling display of a target, a first detection means, a second detection means, a means for generating a visual field mapping screen, a means for continuing scanning right after first detection, a means for continuing scanning right after second detection, a means for waiting a response, a means for storing coordinates presenting the target, a means for mapping a mark of impossibility of target recognition, a first completion judgment means, a second completion judgment means, a means for calculating the next scanning point in first completion judgment, and a means for calculating the next scanning point in second completion judgment. Consequently, the scanner operates very speedily, thereby being capable of scanning a large quantity of scanning points in a predetermined period.
