<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for repairing cracked welded joints of a BWR core spray piping system. <P>SOLUTION: A clamp 20 includes upped and lower clamp bodies 22 and 24 spliced together by a clamp bolts 30 held by keeper nuts 32 with crimp collars engaging with the bolts 30. Upper and lower curved jaw parts 26 and 28 of the clamp bodies 22 and 24 are in contact with piping at contact points and a gap is formed between the piping and the curved jaw parts 26 and 28, which always engages the clamp 20 with the piping to seal a cracked weld zone. Conical ends of stop bolts 40 to be inserted into the upper curved jaw part 26 are seated into conical holes machined in core spray line piping to prevent the cracked weld zone of the piping from separating after the installation of the clamp 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
