<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move an ultrasonic probe along a kneecap to obtain ultrasonic echo information for the cartilage of a knee joint. <P>SOLUTION: An attaching unit 16 is positioned by an attaching unit frame 58 to abut to the thigh with the knee in the bending state and a knee abutting part 62 to abut to the knee. The attaching unit has a probe support frame 60 for moving the ultrasonic probe along the kneecap. The probe support frame is rotated around the mechanical center of the knee joint, and accordingly, the ultrasonic probe 78, turned in the direction of the mechanical center of the knee joint, is moved along the kneecap to scan the knee joint with an ultrasonic beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
