<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste for a wall coating material, the paste which allows recovery and reuse of a wall coating material, and to provide a production method of the paste, and a wall coating material. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The paste contains devil's tongue powder, starch and glue. The paste preferably contains 3 to 5 parts by mass of starch and 2.7 to 4.5 parts by mass of glue with respect to 1.0 to 1.4 parts by mass of devil's tongue powder. Otherwise, the paste may contain 5 to 7 parts by mass of starch and 4.5 to 6.3 parts by mass of glue with respect to 1.0 to 1.4 parts by mass of devil's tongue powder, or contain 30 to 50 parts by mass of starch and 10 to 20 parts by mass of glue with respect to 25 to 50 parts by mass of devil's tongue powder. The paste preferably contains at least one of benzoic acid, sodium benzoate, cellulose ester and bamboo vinegar. The paste is produced by mixing a devil's tongue paste prepared by agitating devil's tongue powder with water, a starch paste prepared by agitating starch with water, and a glue liquid prepared by mixing glue with water.
