<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric deionized-water production apparatus (EDI) which prevents generation of scales in a concentration room and also can obtain deionized water from which ionic components are highly removed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The EDI includes a desalting room 10, 20, which is divided with one side of a cation exchange membrane 12 and the other side of an anion exchange membrane 22 between an anode and a cathode and packed with an ion exchanger, and a concentration room which is arranged in both sides of the desalting room through the cation exchange membrane 12 or the anion exchange membrane 22, wherein the concentration room 30, held between two desalting rooms, has a middle membrane 36 which divides the desalting room in the depth direction to form an anode-side small concentration room 34 in the anode side and a cathode-side small concentration room 32 in the cathode side, where the ion exchanger containing a cation exchanger is packed in the anode-side small concentration room 34 and the ion exchanger containing an anion is packed in the cathode-side small concentration room 32.
