<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper processor, capable of ensuring a paper bundle processing time even in a short carrying path, and maintaining the processing capability of paper carried at fixed intervals without damage on paper or loss of synchronism of a carrying means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Paper carrying is performed by increasing a receiving linear speed V1 to a carrying linear speed V2 at a point of time when an N-th part of paper carried from an image forming apparatus at the receiving linear speed V1 is carried in a fixed quantity after the paper top end is detected by an inlet sensor in a carrying path (acceleration possible time:T1). When releasing operation of the N-th part is performed at a point of time when the top paper of N+1th part is carried at the receiving linear speed V1, and reaches the acceleration possible time: T1, the paper carrying is performed by increasing the linear speed V1 is increased to a carrying linear speed V3 lower than the carrying linear speed V2(V1≥V3>V2).
