<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical joint having yield strength equivalent or superior to a steel pipe pile body, high in reliability and manufactured at a low cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mechanical joint has an outer joint pipe 3 having almost the same outer diameter as the outer diameter of a steel pipe pile and formed with a plurality of through-holes 6 bored in a radial direction, and an inner joint pipe 4 having a plurality of through-holes radially bored in an outer peripheral wall in positions corresponding to the formed positions of the through-holes 6 of the outer joint pipe 3. The inner joint pipe 4 is inserted on the inner diameter side of the outer joint pipe 3 so that both through-holes communicate with each other, and the end face of an annular collar part 7 is allowed to abut on the end face of the outer joint pipe 3.
