<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an alignment error of gears of a reduction gear. <P>SOLUTION: The reduction gear 30 of an electric power steering system 1 includes a first and a second housings 61, 62 which support first and second gears 26, 27 engaged with each other at both ends through mutually parallel first and second shafts 31, 32. The reduction gear 30 has a first and a second positioning mechanisms 91, 92 which position both housings 61, 62 in a positioning direction P1 crossing at right angles with a counter direction P2. The positioning mechanisms 91, 92 include positioning shafts 93, 97, and positioning sections 94, 98 with which the positioning shafts 93, 97 can contact. The reduction gear 30 comprises a tightening member 63 tightening the both housings 61, 62 in the counter direction P2, and a cam mechanism 102 converting a part of tightening force by the tightening member 63 into a force pushing the positioning shafts 93, 97 to the positioning sections 94, 98 along the positioning direction P1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
