PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for the vehicle drive capable of realizing the steering and the driving, and adequately reducing the size, the weight and the cost of a vehicle by a simple constitution using the power of an electric motor for driving wheels. SOLUTION: The actuator A1 for the vehicle drive includes an electric motor 10, a wheel driving unit 20 which transmits the rotation of the electric motor 10 to an axle 26 to rotate wheels, and a steering angle control mechanism 40 for executing the steering braking of the wheels. The vehicle driving unit 20 has a planetary gear deceleration mechanism 21 capable of distributing power as well as decelerating the rotation of the electric motor 10 and transmitting it to the axle 26, and operates the steering angle control mechanism 40 by the power distributed by the planetary gear mechanism 21.
