<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection material for lawn or the like produced by superimposing a plurality of frames in layers, through employing a method for connecting upper frames. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The protection material for lawn or the like produced by superimposing a plurality of frames in layers has a four-layer structure comprising a base frame, an intermediate frame, an upper frame and a protection frame for the upper frame. The base frame comprises a base tread-pressure part and a base through-hole part. The base tread-pressure part is provided with a connection part connected to the intermediate frame at its top part. The base through-hole part comprises a space or a cylindrical inner part surrounded by the base tread-pressure part. The intermediate frame comprises a net-state frame, and part of the intersections of the net can be engaged with the top part of the base tread-pressure part at its back surface. A bar-state insertion part is formed above the intersections of the net. The upper frame is made of raw material softer than that for the base frame, and the upper frame is formed into such a shape as to connect the upper tread-pressure part having a hollow cylinder with its top part closed and with its lower part opened. The space surrounded by the cylinder comprises an upper water-permeable part. The bar-state insertion part of the intermediate frame is insertable into the cylinder of the upper part frame. The protection frames for the upper part frames are formed by connecting protection pipes surrounding the lower part of the upper tread-pressure part of the upper frame.
