<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is impossible to discriminate whether temperature fluctuation detected by an infrared ray sensor is caused by storage of food or disturbance such as mixing of warm air in opening and closing a door. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This refrigerator is controlled by a control means 133 to perform a quick freezing operation for cooling the inside of a freezing compartment 103, when a temperature detecting means 126 detects that a temperature of the inside of the freezing compartment 103 or a stored object is higher than a certain specific temperature, and the quick freezing operation is stopped when a disturbance detecting means 131 detecting temperature rise caused by disturbance detects that the temperature rise is caused by reasons excluding storage of the stored object, thus the quick freezing operation can be performed only when it is really necessary, unnecessary power consumption can be prevented, and freshness keeping performance for food can be improved.
