<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handover processing method, a serving base station, a neighboring base station and a network communication system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a handover processing method, a serving base station selects a target base station from neighboring base stations that can accept a handover request from a mobile terminal, and notifies the mobile terminal about a selection result. If handover information corresponding to the mobile terminal is received by a neighboring base station that can accept the handover request of the mobile terminal within a prescribed handover waiting time, the neighboring base station determines that the neighboring base station itself is a target base station and cooperates with the mobile terminal to perform a handover. If handover information corresponding to the mobile terminal is not received within a prescribed handover waiting time, the neighboring base station determines that it is a prepared base station and reduces its resources reserved for the mobile terminal.
