PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which is capable of suppressing the occurrence of flicker and is superior in display quality. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes: an array substrate including a plurality of signal lines 27, a plurality of scanning lines 19, and a plurality of pixels provided in a display region; a counter substrate; and a liquid crystal layer. Each of the plurality of pixels includes a switching element and a pixel electrode which is electrically connected to the switching element and overlaps the scanning lines 19. The plurality of scanning lines 19 have a plurality of scan electrodes 19a overlapping pixel electrodes of the plurality of pixels.
