A constant current source is used to charge a condenser. The voltage from the terminals of the condenser is divided and a small proportion of it combined with the signal from a temp. sensing device whose output is linear with temp. over the range employed. A small controllable current is obtained by using the base current of a transistor whose emitter is connected to the constant current source. The combined voltages are fed to a conventional regulator used in either the ON-OFF or HIGH-LOW mode. The device is used for programming the temp. of furnaces used, for instance, in the growth of semiconductor crystals.
|
