APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING INTERFERENCE OF HETEROGENEOUS NETWORK SYSTEM IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting interference of a heterogeneous network in a mobile communication system are provided to determine a heterogeneous system interference without transmitting a separate packet and measuring an RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication), thereby detecting interference of the heterogeneous system. CONSTITUTION: A controller(102) determines the beginning and the end of a zigbee packet in a mobile terminal. The controller detects interference by success of packet synchronization during a determination interval. A packet confirmation unit(104) confirms packet synchronization success by confirming a frame start alarm field in receiving the zigbee packet. The packet confirmation unit provides interference generation/packet receiving rate to a counter(106). The counter counts the number of the receiving zigbee packets, an interference number of the packet confirmation unit and a packet receiving failure number.
